Long roads dedicated to distant, roses dedicated to love; what can I give you, my love? White clouds dedicated to grassland, rivers dedicated to marine; what can I give you, my friend?
What can I give you? I kept asking, I kept looking for it, and I kept thinking...
Pigeons dedicated to blue sky, stars dedicated to night; what can I give you, my child? Rainy seasons dedicated to earth, years dedicated to season; what can I give you, my parents?
Hey frens there, long time din write here, I am back.. hehe I gotta use chinese to write this time, I miss those days I write in chinese, and my chinese is becoming worse
I still remember the first time when my family and I was watching this few years ago, the atmosphere became silence suddenly, and we all knew that this story touched each other, deeply. During that time, I don't know who is Yasmin Ahmad. But the feeling was so strong during that moment, and I felt that this short film is stunning, really.
Today, I viewed this short film, again. I can feel, the love, not only of the father in the film, but,
the love, of Yasmin, to film, to humanity, to Malaysia, and, to you and me, who are in the creative field.
Thanks Yasmin. Thank you for left us the beautiful film and touching story. Your love and spirit will always be with us. Thanks...
This post is originally copy from my facebook post. I was once imagine talking to her when I get to work and tell her I love her works. But I had got no chance to do it, forever... However, I admire her and her spirit in my heart. She was really a good creative director and film maker. Some called her storyteller, no doubt, a warm, kind and great storyteller.
This is her last film before she passed away, which I first saw few weeks ago at Cannes Lions Predictions Night. My college senior even told me this is her favorite works.
